Serving the GTA since 1953! Reliable Food Supplies Inc. was founded in 1953 by Jack Yudken and his son-in-law Leonard Salter. These two pioneering men operated a modest basement warehouse located in downtown Toronto. Reliable's humble beginnings consisted of just five employees and all orders had to be tediously written and priced by hand. After more than 25 years of steady growth, Reliable moved to their current location on Lawrence Avenue East. This move resulted in an increase of Reliable's warehouse size (more than doubling it) and allowing a substantial increase in storage capabilities as well as ample space for new products to be introduced. In 1985, Larry Salter, Reliable's current president, expanded the operation of Reliable by creating both freezer and cooler space in order to include a large assortment of freezer and refrigerated goods; items that up to this time Reliable did not carry. This was a bold move and Reliable Food Supplies was now able to offer more to the foodservice marketplace.

Several years later in 1999, Reliable completed an additional expansion to the freezer and cooler space, creating the extra space needed to accommodate the ever expanding product base. In the same year, Reliable purchased an entirely new computer system integrating their philosophy to maintain up to date and current equipment. This technological jump aided Reliable employees in delivering faster and more effective services and information when customers required it.

Today, Reliable Food Supplies is well established in the foodservice industry, with a large warehouse, including storage space for both frozen and refrigerated products at it's disposal. A fleet of refrigerated trucks announce Reliable Food Supplies to be "Proudly Canadian". Quality products are delivered to every corner of the G.T.A. and beyond. Reliable's operation now employs over 80 employees and will remain independently family owned and operated for years to come. What began as a specialty supplier to white tablecloth establishments in a downtown basement warehouse has grown into a broadline distributor with over 4,500 unique products and a presence in all sectors of the foodservice industry.
